This week we have had the luxury of my cousin's house on Elliot for additional sleeping. Our three bedroom easily holds eight and yet we have had up to twenty-two sleep here. So when it was mentioned that we could use the Elliot house we decided we would take turns. Last night was my turn. My sister and I took The Stooges and BB. We played several rounds of Scattegories and then tried to figure out how to fit three Stooges in a room with two beds.
We pushed the two beds together and hoped for the best. It certainly worked except LC, who was in the middle, shifted a bit in the night and ended up on the other bed. They didn't seem bothered at all.
The nicest thing about this house is the proximity to the beach. Mom had said she would pick up coffee for us so we could go down to the beach first thing. Of course she arrived right on time so off we went. It was a little windy but what was most disappointing was the fact that there really wasn't any room on the beach to sit. Even though it was low tide it was obvious that high tide had come all the way to the wall and left behind a lot of seaweed. Our time there was brief but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I don't often get to sit and chat with my mother and sister uninterrupted. Later in the day we went the South Cape Beach for a short time and found that the beach there is also shrinking. What is it going to be like in ten years? I can't even think about it.
