Birthday Fun

Sarah and her cousin always celebrate their birthdays when we are at the Cape. JB usually likes to go miniature golfing at Pirates Cove so on Friday we headed west on 28 for forty minutes only to play 25 minutes of golf. They had fun and the birthday boy won the round. The three holes in one certainly helped! We stopped for 'lunch' on the way home at Brigham's (my favorite ice cream place). Sarah, my sister and I got the frappes we have wanted for years and the rest of the kids got ice cream cones. This isn't a typical lunch but we couldn't resist.

Sarah likes to go shopping so I thought she might enjoy some anitqueing along Route 6A. My sister, cousin and I usually like to do this in the fall when we are on the Cape for our Cape Escape weekend. Sarah was excited to go so a bunch of us hopped in the car and headed off. We stopped at a couple of yard sales along the way and had some luck at one. Everyone bought something and we left happy. We kept driving and finally found 6A but were only able to make a few stops because we were heading out of time. We wanted to get to the beach since it was our last day.

When we got home, Dan and Colin had just come back from the very crowded beach so we headed over to the Bay for a short time. It was high tide and the current was very strong so it did not make for a relaxing beach visit but we had to get back to the house anyway to get the cakes and things prepared. The cakes turned out just the way the birthday boy and girl wanted and were delicious.
I can't believe Sarah is now thirteen. The years went by fast but I know that the time she spends on the Cape are her favorite and will be treasured for many, many years.
