Dan's Chair
When we moved into this house the living room was empty for many months (or maybe even a couple of years) so when we finally furnished it we were thrilled. Dan and I had each picked out our own chairs and everything. It reminded me of going over to Nana and Papa's house where Nana had her spot on the couch and Papa had his chair in a perfect spot in the room where he could see everything going on. As you can see from the picture, Dan's striped chair is perfect for relaxing because of the ottoman and it has a great lamp to make reading easier. You can even take a glance out the window to see what is going on outside. A perfect spot.
Well because the room was now filled will such nice things, we told the kids they had to be invited into the room. It was not a place for them to play. It then became known as the Invitation Room. We still call it that to this day. Sarah, in her infinite wisdom, set about creating invitations for each of them to be signed by us and then presented to us when they wanted to come in the room. I am not kidding!!
In case you can't read it, it says "Dear Sarah, You're Invited into The Initashon Room Sined Mom + Dad P.S. Supise It never exspirs!" We did make the kids wait to be invited for a couple of years, so the invitations were used but nothing lasts forever. Once we got the dog, it was very hard to make him wait for an invitation so he decided to find a spot of his own; I mean of Dans.
Dan's chair is no longer Dan's chair. It is Macki's chair. He loves looking out the window to see who is passing by, or if the neighbor is walking to her mailbox. He will spend hours there. Sometimes he will be curled up on the chair or even on the ottoman, but his favorite position is front legs over the arm of the chair just hanging out. What a life. Sorry Dan, start looking at which end of the couch you might prefer. I don't think Macki's going anywhere.

Every Dad has his chair and every dog has his chair...this is so unfortunate! How about Rock Paper Scissors???
