Chocolate

Colin came home from basketball practice very excited last week. While he and his friend LS were at practice some guinea pig babies were born at LS's house. When the boys were told this on the car ride home Colin said right away "I think I'd like to have one.". Colin was told he would have to talk to his parents first. So when he walked in the door he immediately grabbed Dan and me and said he has something very important to talk about. He told us that the guinea pig had babies and he thought he would like to have one. He was very sweet about the whole thing, so we told him he would have to do some research about guinea pigs and then we could decide what to do. When Sarah, the animal lover, found out about this she was all over it and started looking things up online right away. They found out about what sort of home they should have, how much it costs, what kind of food they eat and how they interact with dogs. The research was very thorough and answered most of our intials questions. We were then invited to come and see the guinea pigs on Sunday. I took all the kids with me to meet them.

We met mom and all four babies. The kids got to hold them and see their different personalities.

Matthew held the one called Snowball after Colin had him. I don't know what happened but the next thing you know Snowball is climbing in Matthew's jacket, around his back, onto the floor and then into his pantleg!! Matthew's quick reflexes kicked in and Snowball was back on the ground in no time. We all laughed and then decided we wouldn't be choosing Snowball. What we did decide was that if we get a guinea pig it would be Chocolate. Sarah kept coming back to him and finally convinced Colin that he would be the one.

Now we just have to see what Macki will think of him....
