First Snow

We had the first significant snowfall today which always leads to several things. The first is shoveling the driveway. I was ready to head out to start and asked for a volunteer to help. Colin, bless his heart, was ready in an instant and started shoveling with abandon. Soon, shoveling turned into crawling in the snow making large snowballs. It was the perfect packing snow. This of course leads to the second predictable thing...making a snowman. The first large snowball became so big and hard that Colin actually got on top of it and started to dance on it. Well it wasn't quite as strong as he thought because it broke. So he started over and began to make a reasonably sized snowman. You can even see the tracks he made in the yard in this photo.

Soon after he got the head on the snowman, it fell over. Colin was so sad he began to cry (not really).

But the nice thing about the first snow is that it always ends with rosy cheeks and a cup of hot chocolate (and usually bad hair).

Mmmmmm.
