Finally it was time to get going and the all time favorite of the children, Fabrice Calmels had his coat on and was ready to walk out the doors, when suddenly he started gathering all the kids around for one last picture. Mind you, from the minute he walked in until this moment he had been signing autographs, but he is so great with the kids. They all gathered around him and the cameras started flashing. I couldn't quite make it all the way around to the front so I decided to take a picture anyway...from the back! Sarah has the pink pants on in case you couldn't tell.

The Cast Party
The Artists Cafe was the venue this year for the unofficial Children's Cast Party. One of the Nutcracker Dads organized the whole thing including a DJ, company dancers appearance and even Santa! We got there on the early side because Sarah is done after Act I. They had tables set up in one area and then one long table in the balcony above for the adult chaperones. Sarah and her soldier friends got a great seat by the window and were happy as can be.
Then a few more people showed up! It was packed. Once the Act II children got there they had to go upstairs and take the adult seats and there still wasn't enough room.
In short order, however, the food was served and the kids were all eating away. Until...
the company dancers showed up. A bunch of them jumped from their seats with their autograph sheets or yearbooks or Joffrey books and were running all over the place. It was mass chaos. I just tried to stay out of the way. The servers were miraculously able to get things from point a to point b but it certainly wasn't with ease.
I was able to capture a good shot of Frank Kane signing a book, but that is only because I happened to be standing a few feet away. He plays the grandfather in the party scene and is all Mother Ginger in Act II.
It started to clear out once the Cast B children had to go to the theatre for their show, so CAS took this opportunity to get a spot alone on the bench and play a little DS. He was totally into it.

Finally it was time to get going and the all time favorite of the children, Fabrice Calmels had his coat on and was ready to walk out the doors, when suddenly he started gathering all the kids around for one last picture. All the kids had a great time at the cast party and now there are just two shows left in the 2009 season for Sarah. It does go by quickly.
