Paddock Lake

We headed up to Paddock Lake Sunday morning for a day of fun in the sun. We spent a couple of hours at the beach with some of the little kids. They had a great time in the water, building sandcastles and swinging on the swing. We headed back to the cottage and got right down to fishing. Colin and JG went up to the gas station to buy some worms while Matthew helped untangle some of the fishing poles. I sat on the pontoon drinking my lemonade watching MO try her hand at fishing for the first time with her princess pole.
CV tried her hand at it as well but she had a real hook and caught the first fish of the day!

Colin caught several fish that were kept in a big bucket until dinnertime at which point they were dumped right back into the lake so they could be caught again another day.

With lots of daylight left the kids played in the yard until it was time makes smores by the fire.
The day ended with a beautiful sunset.
Memorial Day, however, started with a few hours of rain but we still managed to get some kayaking, fishing and playing in. We headed back home early so Matthew could finish studying for his exams and Colin could write his History of the Frisbee report. We finished the day by watching the BlackHawks win game two of the Stanley Cup Series to go up 2-0.

Did Colin use his Uncle Bobby as a reference for his Frisbee project?
