Today Sarah's class headed to the Capital of Illinois. They visited many places including the Capital Building.
They got visit the Governor's office, the Senate Room and the House of Representatives Room where they were debating about child health care. They also got to touch Lincoln's nose at Lincoln's Tomb for good luck.
Some other sites they saw were the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum where Sarah found a super cool key chain to add to her key chain collection and the Vietnam Memorial. They tried to make a human chain around the world.
They also posed for a great picture by the memorial. A big thank you to Mr. Kennedy for taking these great pictures.
It was a great day until the bus ride home. The bus was so hot some kids were feeling sick and one girl even passed out. They couldn't get the air to work to cool it down. they finally stopped at a park so the kids could get out and cool off a bit. That was a very welcome stop especially for the bus driver because one of the teachers had to wipe the fog off the windshield for the driver as they were cruising along...yikes. They all boarded the bus again for the final leg home. They arrived only a few minutes past the designated time. It was a long day...I dropped Sarah off at 6am and picked her up at 9pm...wow! I am sure she will sleep like a log (a lincoln log ha ha) tonight which is good because she has to help out at the Preschoolers Bunny Breakfast in the morning. An awesome day for an awesome girl.

Sounds like a great day (except for the ride home) I hope you learned a lot!
Nothing like a little history and a hot bus to make some memories! Looks like Sarah had a great time and she makes me want to plan an outing to visit Springfield!
